Solar in Bhubaneswar

Bhibaneswar is the capital city of Odisha. It is also known as the ‘Temple City of India’ as it has over 700 temples. The city has a population of 8.5 million. Bhubaneswar is one of India’s first planned cities. In the year 1946, the German architect Otto Königsberger designed this city. It is situated in the eastern part of the state on the Kuakhai River, a constituent stream of the Mahanandi River delta.

The city also faces extreme natural weather and due to this extreme weather the city has adapted “off-grid” market. People in Bhubaneshwar only generate limited power by solar systems, just enough to consume the power needed in day time. People in Bhubaneshwar also designed its’s own mini solar system only for the city due to its harsh weather and the lack of electricity supply in the city.
