Bengaluru also known as ‘The Silicon Valley of India’ is the capital city of Karnataka state. Bengaluru is the center of India’s high-tech industry. The city of Bengaluru earlier known as Bangalore, has a population of over 12 million, thus making it a 3^rd most populated city among the megacities of India.

This high-tech city is located on the Deccan Plateau with an elevation of 900 m (3,000 feet). The altitude of the city makes it the highest altitude city among the major cites of India.
